What Is Family Day? Besides being a holiday for schools, it’s a good reminder to focus on the family. The truth is there are those of us out there who do not want to be reminded of their family. Some families do not have a happy history. So, why think about them? Cutting off toxic relationships especially with family is the most difficult and painful. However, as Louise Hay says….
“We are all family, and the planet is our home.”
Day by day, no matter how difficult it may be, I try to use the positive affirmation—
“I attract only healthy relationships. I am always treated well.”
Life isn’t always easy and the very same people who are causing grieve in your lives are often the hurt ones in the past. It is not a simple task to forgive or forget. On the contrary, I understand that even taking baby steps towards forgiving those sad individuals can help myself to release a little bit of the burden off of my heart.
Remember that every experience, good or bad, I need to accept and appreciate the learning that comes with it. I also value the caring relationships that help me stay grounded and loved.

It’s neat, yea the reference here to toxic family members is all very real. And the sense of privacy within families is a important factor in one’s life I feel.

It’s the worst when people hide their toxicity inside the family and act all wonderful outside to strangers…..

I totally agree! It is not healthy to keep in contact with toxic family members and pretend everything is perfectly fine.

Such a great post. Toxic relationships in family can be so detrimental to our health. But cutting off family members or friends is not something anyone wakes saying thay they want to do, but some people who brings so much negativiry to your life, just had to go! Family or not! We learn from these relationships, we work on forgiveness, but that’s it.
Thanks for sharing.
