This was the first time that I had a micro-needling treatment. It was very soothing after the numbing gel, of course. After the treatment, Angie, gave me a kit to use when after the treatment. How thoughtful!
Who is 2 Polished Beauty?
1) Why and when did you start your business?
I started my business almost ten years ago. I knew that’s what I wanted to do. Company working for someone wasn’t enough for me. I wasn’t a 9-5 girl; I hated to be stuck at one place for a specified amount of hours, trading my time for money and ultimately, the potential is capped. I was starting my business so SOOO HARD. I remember renting a sketchy room in the back of a salon with zero clients. I began with tonnes of debt and no clients. However, it was the best experience and option I chose to do for myself.
2) What is your background?
I am Chinese / Vietnamese and speak 4.5 languages. After high school I immediately went to Blanche Macdonalds for the Spa Therapist Diploma. After that I knew what I wanted to do, but one diploma isn’t going to get me satisfied. I works other jobs while trying to find myself. I continued my education in the beauty industry, competed in competitions and won multiple awards. Now I am an educator at 2 Polished Pro Academy.
3) What is special about your treatments?
Facts: Microneedling uses needles but, the service doesn’t hurt!
It is Skin Rejuvenation meaning, it promotes your own body responses to create and build collagen and elastin and promote healing of scares. If you think Botox or fillers will do that, think again.
4) Finally, anything else you want to share?
I’ve been doing this for 15+ years now and I am so excited to share the fact that I will commit to share my knowledge and skills to new artists at 2 Polished Pro Academy. I will be launching online courses as well in person courses. I can’t wait to share this with you!

Vendor Feature: Share Wares
As a habit, I carried around a reusable cup for my take out coffees and even, bubble tea. I really wanted to reduce the usage of single use plastics as much as possible. Then, I discovered Share Wares at some of the local coffee shops!
How Does It Work?
1) In those coffee shops, you would be borrowing a reusable coffee cup for $1.50.
2) Scan the QR code on the cup to set up a free account.
3) Choose a return method after drinking:
– return to partner locations
– book a home pick up (if you have collected quite a few of these containers)
-return to the depot
4) Share Wares collects them, and washes them thoroughly.
5) Deposit of $1.50 is returned by e-transfer.
Done!
In the future, they plan to have more variety of Share Wares for customers to use, like take out food containers and even wine “glasses”!

Book Review: Murder At The British Museum
Summary
There was a dead body inside the British Museum, so private investigator, Daniel Wilson was called in, along with his new partner, Abigail Fenton. Abigail, an archaeologist, was an invaluable asset to his previous murder case. This time, the deceased was a professor who was going to present a new exhibit about King Arthur. Unfortunately, he was stabbed to death before the talk.
Who would hate this man so much, to stab him repeatedly in the chest?
Conclusion
The ending was definitely interesting. I enjoyed reading about some of the historical background. I really liked how educated Abigail was for a lady in the 1890’s.

1) Why and when did you start your business?
I started my business because I’ve always loved buying candles and making my room smell good. I though I should learn how to make candles to help save money. After learning how to make candles I thought it was so fun to do and decided I wanted to launch my candle business December 2021.

I’m Filipino Canadian.

I sell mini versions of our Booty, gummy bear and Cloud candles.

I want to start selling butt candles with hand painted stretch marks to showcase real bodies.

Our mochi was inspired by Hawaiian butter mochi since our trip to Hawaii was cancelled when covid hit.

My small business was launched in Feb 2020. I started this business after being encouraged by my family and friends.

I was born and raised in Iran, a country where food is keeping the culture and origins alive. Our culture has historically integrated with cuisine! Therefore, as an Iranian, my world has always revolved around food. I have always loved to be a part of people’s joy. That is why I made Charcuterie Highlights happen!
My biggest mission when I established this business was to bring people together with food. Because food is the universal language and creates a world to share our love. It’s been only me behind the scenes and I look forward to serve you with the best of the best!
3) What are some interesting facts about your products?
I combine Persian cuisine with my products! Many items in my spreads are homemade and that comes from my passion for cooking and baking!

Wai Spa’s Body Contouring Treatment
It’s been over two years since I had a body contouring treatment. These treatments are usually uncomfortable while going through with it. After the treatment, muscles are usually extremely sore. But, the body takes you for it! Thank you, Wai Spa for this treat!
This treatment is a two-part procedure. First part is the manual massage that incorporates Kyung Rak technique along with regular technique. This helps to loosen up the muscles and starts the lymphatic drainage. The alternating sensations of soreness and relaxation helps to prepare the body for the second part.
Second part involves the R.F. machine.
The Radio Frequency Machine:
“Radiofrequency (RF) therapy, also called radiofrequency skin tightening, is a nonsurgical method of tightening your skin.
The procedure involves using energy waves to heat the deep layer of your skin known as your dermis. This heat stimulates the production of collagen.
RF therapy may help tighten loose skin on your body by stimulating the production of collagen.
A 2017 studyfound that 24 of the 25 people who underwent 5 to 8 sessions of RF therapy sessions saw an improvement in their body shape. Twenty-three people were happy with their results.”— Health Line
Conclusion
After a few hours, I definitely felt sore and tired. According to their other clients, better sleep and bowel movements are awaiting…. Excellent!
